A Howdy Hello
Meet our Owner: Phillip Lin
My mom always told me that if I were as smart as I thought I was, I would be able to make the
world a better place. Since opening the Tsai Chung Ling Foundation in her honor, I have made
some steps in that direction, but nothing compares to what we do here now. While Howdy is a franchise, making this location in Cary, NC, the first non-profit one was a rewarding step toward changing the world, one scoop at a time. For me, employing those with different abilities isn’t the end goal. It’s just the beginning. Making our Howdy Homemade Ice Cream shop inclusive means creating a space where we answer the needs of our customers AND our team. This is why you’ll find that our process of serving and making ice cream isn’t the standard. Instead, it’s in a way that our Howdy heroes can feel confident and supported as they master their skills and deliver top service.
My dedication to inclusivity is also reflected in the adult-changing system we installed to
accommodate our adult special needs visitors or even our upcoming weekly flavors that are
allergy-friendly and dairy-free. My goal is to ensure our customers never have to withhold themselves from a delicious Howdy Homemade Ice Cream experience! At our location, we’re doing all we can to redefine what inclusivity means for our community. We’re ensuring everyone has the tools and support they need to feel seen, valued, and right at home.
